Horse World Expo 2019

It’s that time of year again, time for the Horse World Expo in Harrisburg. Running Feb 28 through March 3. Four days packed with vendors, shows, and equestrian fun for the whole family. Non-stop seminars and demonstrations from saddle fitting to starting the young horse. There will be entertainment from the parade of breeds to carriage racing. Here are some things you can look forward to:

Vendors: This year the vendor list is expansive. From builders to tack shops to equine nutrition, the vendors won’t disappoint. You can check out the full list online here.

Many clinicians will be there for people who want to learn about different training methods and performing demonstrations all day. A few of the folks you can learn from and perhaps meet this year include Kenny Harlow, Guy Mclean and Richard Shrake.  You can find the full schedule of events here.

Trail Champion Challenge: Riders and their horses can compete for cash and prizes. This is an obstacle course that is scored and timed by a panel of judges. It is a challenging course open to any riders and trainers with horses 3 years old and up. You can pre register for that event now.

Theatre Equus: This theatrical presentation is professionally choreographed and scripted. The show is just shy of 2 hours long with limited seating and happens on Friday & Saturday only & a separate ticket is required. It appeals to children & adults. Music, comedy skits, awesome tricks with horses. Fun entertainment for all ages.

Parade of Breeds is an educational presentation held in the arena giving visitors a look at a sampling of the many different breeds of horses. Some of the breeds on display this year include Arabians, Quarter Horses, Chincoteagues and Cleveland Bays.

On Stallion Avenue you can meet some of the region’s best stallions of these different breeds up close.

All in all the Horse World Expo is filled with the magic of horses and is sure not to disappoint. We will see you there, at the Farm Show Complex, 2300 North Cameron Street in Harrisburg, the hours are Thursday (2/28) from 12 to 8; Friday from 10 to 8; Saturday 9 to 8, and Sunday 9-5.
